Rumor has it that Microsoft will be announcing a slimmer Xbox One at the E3, happening this week. Since the rumored Xbox One S has been seen in purported leaked photos, it seems the rumors are right on the mark.

Kotaku has picked up a leaked press image of the new Xbox One S, the rumored slim version of the Microsoft console. According to the industry follower, the new Xbox One is going to be showcased at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, and in the press image, said to be 40 percent smaller than the current Xbox One system. Meanwhile, although the design of the new console has been toned down, the image also claims that the new Xbox One S received upgraded specs under the hood. Codenamed Edmonton, the new Xbox One Slim will reportedly come out with a 2TB hard drive, a new streamlined controller, and support for 4K Ultra HD video.

Since the industry follower stated that the Xbox One S is internally known as Edmonton, this means that another Xbox console is waiting in the wings. Speculations say that Microsoft is also working on a heavily upgraded system dubbed Scorpio, which observers say is the much-awaited Xbox Two console.

According to The Verge, another leaked image has also presented the Xbox One Slim with a vertical stand, and that the power supply for the new system is built-in, which is a first for an Xbox console. The industry observer reached Microsoft for comment. However, the tech conglomerate only sent a message implying that fans and observers alike should wait for the official announcement at the E3.

The Xbox One S has been rumored for some time now, and is reportedly going head to head with Sony's upcoming PS4 upgrade. Code-named Neo, the new PS4K is also said to include VR support, but observers say that based on purported leaks on the specs sheets, it seems the new Xbox One console has the PS4 Neo beaten in terms of performance.
