Xbox One S now runs 4k videos from Amazon

Xbox One S has just been reported to now be capable of running 4K videos from Amazon. Microsoft website

Recent reports state that Microsoft's latest game console, the Xbox One S, has just received a major improvement as it can run 4K videos through Amazon. There are already a lot of video streaming apps in the Xbox One S that provides 4K streaming services. Now, Amazon has just added itself to the list.

Xbox One S' Amazon Video app is now capable of supporting 4K streaming. What this means is that Ultra High Definition (UHD) videos can now be streamed using the Amazon Video app. This is a very bold move for Microsoft and Amazon, knowing that the competition between the Xbox One S and Sony's PlayStation 4 Pro is very stiff.

However, it is important for Xbox One S owners to remember that not all the videos in the Amazon Video app are formatted in 4K resolution. This is because not all videos present in the video streaming app are all in UHD.

If users are going to play a Standard Definition (SD) video on the Xbox One S, they will still not be able to view it in a very crisp and clear resolution that 4K gives. Fortunately, all the original shows of Amazon are in 4K UHD resolution.

Some of the 4K videos in Amazon are favorite shows like "The Man in the High Castle," "Bosch," and "The Grand Tour." This is the first time that a 4K streaming video service has been fully launched on the Xbox One S platform.

The 4K support feature was previously available last December; however, it was not a full release. For Xbox One S owners to enjoy the 4K video streaming service, they just need to update their console's Amazon Video app.

The update would then automatically download the 4K support feature.
