The popular sci-fi drama television series, "X-Files", although one of the longest running sci-fi series, did not have many games. As such, gamer fans will be glad to know that with the new 11th season coming out early next year, the show will also be followed with a new "X-Files" mobile game for iOS, Android, and Facebook, entitled "X-Files: Deep State."

Players get to play as an agent who works with Agent Dale to uncover conspiracies and find out the truth behind the scenes. Offering a bit of character customization, the game does not resemble much of the popular series that many have grown to love. Unfortunately, Mulder and Scully might not even appear in the game as the trailer did not show them.

As an agent, players will also have to interrogate witnesses, solve puzzles, and investigate the paranormal. According to Eurogamer, the mobile game's story is set in 2010, which lies between seasons 9 and 10 of the show. That said, fans could probably expect the cases to be quite similar to those in the series, and watching the show may give players an advantage in the game.

When players have finished it, they can keep the app on their mobile devices as there will be regular updates and new cases every month. However, no one is quite sure whether these updates would all be made available for free or if they would come as additional in-app purchases.

The game's announcement was made by Fox's FoxNext publisher as game developer Creative Mobile continues to create the game. The last game made for the "X-Files" series, "X-Files: Resist or Serve" was back in 2004 for the PS2

FoxNext has mentioned that "X-Files: Deep State" will be released just in time for the premiere of the 11th season of "X-Files," which will be on Jan. 3, 2018.
