WWE rumors 2016: Dean Ambrose shows signs of turn against Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns may be the one the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) wants to push but Dean Ambrose is technically the people's choice right now.

After losing his Intercontinental title to Kevin Owens, no thanks to a five-man tag match, the plot thickens on what lies ahead for the Lunatic Fringe.

But there is one title he could get his hands on only if he can pull the rug from under buddy Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar at the coming WWE pay-per-view, WWE Fastlane.

Ambrose will be one of the participants in the Triple Threat match main event to determine who will face Triple H at Wrestlemania 32. Script-wise, the pick is Reigns, but changes could ensue if the company considers the Ambrose angle.

Of the three combatants at WWE Fastlane, Ambrose is the obvious underdog. Reigns and Lesnar are expected to overpower the Lunatic Fringe, but his stubborn nature of defying odds is what has endeared him thus far.

And with that said, a surprise win by Ambrose could happen only if the WWE wills it. In short, it may be down to a choice — stick to the script or alter it to appease the fans.

Right now, there is no indication that the WWE plans to shift its attention to Ambrose in favor of Reigns. The answer to that could very well be known at WWE Fastlane, which will take place at the Quickens Loans Arena in Cleveland on Feb. 21.

Ambrose gave a glimpse of what to expect. He tried to apply his patented Dirty Deeds on Reigns. The move, of course, left Reigns in awe, although Ambrose's body language said it all — he wants the title shot ticket and head to WrestleMania 32.

The two eventually shook it off but the apparent cloud of doubt was obvious. Could this escalate when the two face each other along with Brock Lesnar this Sunday? It should be an interesting match so don't miss it, including the post-fight action which should more or less dictate what storyline the WWE plans to do next.
