WWE rumors 2015: John Cena set to return on WWE Raw

John Cena will finally make his long awaited return to the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) this coming Monday on RAW.

Cena will be going after the man who dealt him his last loss, current U.S. champion Alberto Del Rio. Obviously, Cena would want payback for the defeat he incurred at WWE Hell in a Cell and such is likely to provide the framework for a possible showdown between the two, likely at the WWE Royal Rumble.

To recall, Cena lost to a returning Del Rio at the WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view (PPV). Although the results were not much of a surprise, considering Cena was expected to lose because he was to go on personal leave, it will be interesting to see how this storyline goes.

A lot of things have changed since then. One is that Alberto Del Rio has aligned himself with the "League of Nations," which means Cena will have to face more than just the Hispanic star. Rusev is around or maybe even Sheamus at times. So if one thinks about it, there are complications brewing.

But, of course, that is too soon to call. Everyone knows that Sheamus is feuding with Roman Reigns for the WWE heavyweight title so it remains to be seen if Cena and Reigns will eventually cross paths.

However, seeing that many believe that Reigns would need some boost from Cena, a team-up could happen at some point. If this is the case, the U.S. title could be taken out of the picture.

The U.S. title has not exactly been the center of interest lately, with Del Rio seemingly busy helping out in the "League of Nations" storyline. A Cena return may change that and possibly provide a new angle for WWE fans to watch.

If not, an alliance with Reigns could also work, although that would mean just one storyline with all belts shelved for now.
