The gameplay for the upcoming "WWE 2K18" appears to be more seamless as the graphics of the players' fights are visibly smoother and less choppy.
Fans were teased with videos of next year's much-anticipated wrestling game showing the gameplays of two matches. The first is the "Hell in a Cell" match between Kevin Owens and Shane McMahon. The next is a battle between Shinsuke Nakamura and Jinder Mahal for the WWE Title. It is clear that game developers have shored up on graphics as a fighter's limbs does not disappear into his opponent's body most especially during a high spot or a finishing move.
In the video, Owens and McMahon get into a scuffle immediately and fight their way out of the ring. When Owens carries McMahon for a pile driver, their limbs do not get lost in each other and are clearly separate. This makes the gameplay more realistic and fans will be able to appreciate the game more. This is unlike past versions where the arms and legs would overlap each other during sophisticated fight moves.
In related news, with WWE's ongoing partnership with Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), game publishers 2K Sports recently announced that Colonel Sanders, the patron saint of fried chicken and founder of KFC, will be a playable character in the upcoming "WWE 2K18" wrestling game.
No gameplay footage has been shown yet of 2K Colonel Sanders but he is expected to make his debut on WWE superstar Xavier Woods' YouTube show "UpUpDownDown" on Oct. 12. There have been many superstars that portrayed the Colonel including Shawn Michaels and Dolph Ziggler. Most recently, Kurt Angle took on his mantle in the announcement trailer of the recent "Hell in a Cell" pay-per-view show.
"WWE 2K18" will arrive on Tuesday, Oct. 17 for PlayStation 4 (PS4), Xbox One, and PC. A Nintendo Switch version is expected to follow sometime soon.
