With the next title in the "WWE" franchise launching in October, publisher 2K Sports continues to release new details on the new sequel.

The new "WWE 2K17" game has been confirmed to have additional superstars on its roster, with the new character updates headed by AJ Styles. In an announcement on the official "WWE" website, 2K Sports reveals that Styles is part of the 36 new characters confirmed to be added to the upcoming entertainment franchise game.

Styles is just one of the new supsertarts to join the roster, and is confirmed to have an 89-point rating in the new game. Other confirmed superstars in the new update include "Macho Man" Randy Savage, Shawn Michaels, and Bam Bam Bigelow. The list also includes 10 superstars from the "WWE" Hall of Fame, including Sting.

Meanwhile, aside from the new superstars making a comeback in the franchise, other WWE stars will also have their first-time game appearance via "WWE 2K17." One of these stars is Sasha Banks. In the "2K17/SummerSlam Kickoff" event in New York, Banks said her engagement in the game will make her October busy, as "... the first thing I'm going to do is play 2K17."

Banks told IGN: "I saw a little bit of myself in the game and it looked awesome. It's a dream come true to be in the game. It's my first time being in it. And then when you add walking into SummerSlam as Women's Champion, there are so many things going on in my life and it's amazing."

"WWE 2K17" will launch on Oct. 11 for the PS3 and PlayStation 4, as well as the Xbox One and previous-gen Xbox 360. However, as with previous titles, expansion and special edition content, such as the "NXT Edition," is only available for current-gen platforms.
