It has been confirmed that as a pre-order bonus, legend WWE superstar Bill Goldberg will be an exclusive playable character. In addition, it is rumored that the cover star for the franchise's next game installment will be Dean Ambrose.

In an announcement trailer released by 2K Games, the developer has already revealed that Goldberg will come as a playable character bonus for pre-orders of "WWE 2K17." The video footage shows Da Man being escorted by police security, which is the legendary superstar's entrance routine in the WCW and WWE. Meanwhile, it is also confirmed that aside from Goldberg as a bonus player, fans who pre-order the game will also get additional in-game items like the "WCW Nitro" and "Halloween Havoc" arenas.

Goldberg himself has already been apprised of the development, and the superstar says that it's a dream come true.

The wrestler said, "I just got the phone call. It was something that we had been in talks off and on over a number of years. As a father and an ex-wrestler, it's a dream come true. To be able to come back and be included in WWE 2K17, it's a huge honor. That the people would even want me back after such a long hiatus is another honor."

Meanwhile, although the game is already confirmed for an October release, 2K Games has yet to officially unveil the next cover star for the franchise. According to The Bitbag, one of the leading contenders to grace the new game's cover is the new World Heavyweight Champion Dean Ambrose. The industry follower said that theatrics aside, the Lunatic Fringe is a hit among fans, and is one of the most talked-about wrestlers to date. However, the industry observer added that though Ambrose may be a shoo-in, it is still up to the game itself who will be the cover superstar for "WWE 2K17," since previous cover stars are highlights of the game's "Showcase" mode.
