Apple will hold its annual developers' conference early next month and latest reports claimed the tech giant will live stream the event.
As usual, Apple's Special Event on June 2 and it will be broadcast as a live video stream worldwide. The event will take place at 10am PDT. However, Apple has conditions to those who want to watch the WWDC 2014 live stream. Viewers must watch on Safari 4 or later on OS X 10.6 or later; or Safari on iOS 4.2 or later (iPad, iPhone and iPod). Moreover, streaming via Apple TV requires second- or third-generation Apple TV with software 5.0.2 or later.
Those who do not own an Apple device will not be left out in the dark. Aside from Apple, tech websites and Apple-centric sites such as CNET, The Verge, 9to5Mac and MacRumors will also run a live stream and live blog of the event to update Apple fans about the new things that they will see in the next few months.
What to Expect at WWDC 2014
It was reported that Apple will take the wraps off the next generation of its mobile and desktop operating system - iOS 8 and OS X 10.10.
The new iOS 8 will definitely pack new features and capabilities such as the split-screen multitasking feature in mobile devices, which will enable users to use two applications at the same time. Moreover, the new software will also improve the software for current Apple features such as Siri and TouchID fingerprint sensor.
The Cupertino-based company will also release the Mac OS X 10.10. Reports claimed that the upcoming desktop OS will receive a facelift and the desktop icons will get a new design. It was stated that the icons will be flatter, transparent and frosted effects. Mac OS X 10.10 will retain some of its features such as Finder and Mission Control.
Aside from iOS 8 and OS X 10.10, Apple was also speculated to reveal "a new software platform" for a smart home. According to Financial Times, this will allow iPhone users to control the appliances inside their home.
