While most downloadable contents (DLCs) are usually paid additions to the game, developer Fatshark has decided to make the next DLC for "Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide" completely free. A "Vermintide 2" DLC is coming and an update has been released to help players bridge the storyline between "Vermintide" and "Vermintide 2."

The only requirement to get the free DLC is that, of course, players would need to own "Vermintide." The new update called Waylaid is already available. The official announcement post has even left some hints for what is to come with the new DLC and the patch.

"Lohner has a new task for you," reads the post. "No doubt you're off to some forest to kill rats, right? Maybe the old goat 'lost' some more incredibly dangerous relics?" From those few sentences alone, gamers can make their own theories for the game. Fortunately, it would not take them long to know if they had the right theory. While the update is free now, "Vermintide 2," the free DLC, is set to be released on March 8.

Aside from the main addition bridging the gap between the two titles, Waylaid will also have the usual bug fixes and gameplay adjustments. Unfortunately, those who have lost access to the Death on Reik DLC, which came as a bonus for preordering the game, will have to wait longer. Fatshark has acknowledged the problem and is already working on it.

Nevertheless, with the success that the game is making, the game's fans are asking for more content behind its cult story. It has gained the reputation of being a similar game to "Left 4 Dead" but with rats. Especially with a "Left 4 Dead 3" still being rumored, they seem to take this game as a great alternative.

"Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide" was first released back in 2015 and still has a huge number of players up to now.
