Millions of "Harry Potter" fans were amazed by a fan film telling the story of Lord Voldemort not as the dark lord but as the Heir of Slytherin. The fan-made movie titled "Voldemort: Origins of the Heir" got over 8 million views on YouTube.

The fan film was produced and released by Tryangle Films via YouTube. The production team made it clear that it has no affiliation with Warner Bros. and J.K. Rowling and that the film is for the fans.

The plot of the film focuses on Tom Marvolo Riddle's (Stefano Rossi), heir of Salazar Slytherin and how he transformed into the evil Voldemort. The movie also features the other three heirs of Hogwarts houses, Grisha McLaggen (Maddalena Orcali and Aurora Moroni) heir of Godric Gryffindor, Lazarus Smith (Andrea Bonfatti) heir of Helga Hufflepuff, and Wiglaf Sigurdsson (Andrea Deanesi and Andrea Baglio) heir of Rowena Ravenclaw.

The 52-minute video highlights Riddle's hunger for power as he looks for the heirlooms left by the founders of Hogwarts. Fans applauded the film for its execution and storyline from start until its shocking ending.

Many who viewed the film took it to social media to share their reviews and opinions on the movie. One fan wrote on Instagram, "I think for a fan-film it is really great. The music and the special effects were amazing." One individual tweeted, "Voldemort Origins of the Heir was such a good fan film. It's so dark and twisty and gives all the HP feels. Definitely recommend it to all #HP fans out there."

"Voldemort: Origins of the Heir" is not the only fan-made film based on the "Harry Potter" movie franchise. "Severus Snape and the Marauders" released back in 2016 also made headlines and was commended by fans.

"Harry Potter" fans are now waiting for the upcoming movie "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald" to be released on Nov. 16.
