History channel has yet to reveal the official release date of "Vikings" season 4, but fans are already looking forward to learning where the Norsemen are heading in the next season of the historical drama. Earlier spoilers claimed that the show will deal with the effects of Rollo's (Clive Standen) betrayal at the end of season 3.
Standen sat down with Entertainment Weekly after the magazine's Comic-Con bash back in July to explain how Rollo decided to break his brother Ragnar's (Travis Fimmel) trust.
"Rollo got offered the land and the princess by Charles, and I don't think he really thought about it that much," the actor shared. "It seems like a win-win scenario. He's got nothing to go back for in Kattegat anymore."
But the 34-year-old British actor maintained that Rollo might realize a little to late that he made the wrong decision.
"He thinks this is going to be an easy ride, and then we've all seen how he reacted to Gisla's speech," he said. "He hasn't got a clue. He doesn't even speak the language. There's no going back."
Standen also mentioned that if Rollo is really serious about conquering Paris, he has to showcase the best of his capacities and get out of his brother's shadows.
Meanwhile, Ecumenical News recently mentioned reports saying that Ragnar and his second wife Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland) will try to make their marriage work, but it would end at some point.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, series creator Michael Hirst talked about the possible change in the dynamics between the King of Denmark and his feisty wife, saying that Aslaug will be a darker force to deal with when the series returns next year. The report said that after Aslaug experienced being the most powerful person in Kattegat, she will no longer want to step down from her post.
"Vikings" season 4 is slated to air sometime in 2016.
