Is Brooks Ayers going to be in trouble for lying about his cancer? According to a new report, Vicki Gunvalson's family wants the businessman to be prosecuted for forging his medical records.

A source told Radar Online, "Vicki's family wants the City of Hope to have Brooks prosecuted."

Last month, Brooks Ayers admitted to falsifying some medical documents as he claimed that he was treated for cancer at the City of Hope cancer center. After E! News exclusively confirmed that Brooks lied about his cancer and was never treated at City of Hope, he issued a statement, expressing "the deep regret that I have in fabricating documents to 'prove' to the world that I, in fact, have cancer." He added that he presented the documents in an episode of "The Real Housewives of Orange County" for a storyline on the show.

The insider said that the "RHOC" star would "absolutely cooperate" with law enforcement if ever the treatment facility were to press charges against Brooks. The document, which Brooks presented on the show, was an alleged billing statement from City of Hope for a chemo treatment that cost $33,000. The document had the City of Hope logo on it, as well as Brooks name. However, a representative from the hospital told E! that no one by the name of "David Brooks Ayers" was treated at their facilities.

According to Radar Online, California law states, "any person who alters or modifies the medical record of any person, with fraudulent intent, or who, with fraudulent intent, creates any false medical record, is guilty of a misdemeanor." If a person is found guilty of falsifying medical documents with fraudulent intent, the maximum penalty is one year imprisonment in county jail.

Meanwhile, a source close to Brooks told E! that he has been lying about his cancer for almost ten years.

"Brooks never had cancer," said the source, adding that the businessman uses cancer as an excuse to get his way in whatever he wants. "He used it in the past and is using it now."
