In the next episode of "Van Helsing," Sam's (Christopher Heyerdahl) past catches up to him and haunts him while Mohamad (Trezzo Mahoro) gets treated for his wounds.

The synopsis and trailer for the upcoming installment titled "Be True" were just released recently, and they showed Sam beating up someone with a baseball bat. It appears that this is a flashback as Sam is still a human at this point. Mohammad is also shown witnessing the beating, and he is clearly taken aback. Sam then turns to him and gives a friendly wave.

It seems like Sam and Mohamad may have had a shared past a couple of years ago. It could be why the insane vampire is very fond of the kid. Another flashback is shown where Sam's father, who is a priest, taunts the young boy for being strange. "What did I do to deserve a son like you?" the father mocks the young Sam.

The old man finds him torturing young animals inside his room. A cat's head is impaled with a huge nail as the young boy looks at it earnestly. Apparently, Sam liked to inflict pain on animals when he was younger. The kid can't take his father's taunting anymore, so he turns around and punches him in the eye. Meanwhile, Mohamad gets treated for his wounds by a mysterious follower of Sam.

In the last episode, Vanessa Van Helsing (Kelly Overton) thought she had found her mother Abigail (Colleen Winton), but it turned out that she was just an imposter who wanted to use her. Abigail and the other scientists wanted to treat her blood and find a way to live longer. Van Helsing ended up getting shot by the villainous scientist.

"Van Helsing" season 2 episode 11 will hit the airwaves on Thursday, Dec. 21, at 9 p.m. EST on Syfy.
