Murder-mystery game "Rainswept" recently released a demo. Around an hour long, the demo is currently available on Itch.io and features some of the narrative elements and gameplay mechanics that players can expect from the finished version of the game once it finally gets released.

In "Rainswept," players will take control of detective Michael Anderson as he examines what appears to be a strange murder-suicide case in the small town of Pineview. An official synopsis of the game is available on the Itch.io website where players can also download the demo.

"Detective Michael Anderson enters the small town of Pineview to assist the local police force with a seemingly simple case - A couple is found dead in their kitchen. The locals believe it to be a case of murder-suicide, their speculation fuelled by rumors of the turbulent nature of the couple's relationship."

What the players must help detective Anderson solve is whether or not it truly was a suicide or something more. Players must head to the crime scene to learn about, not only the deceased couple, but their relationship with one another, their stories, and their dark secrets.

According to the summary on the Itch.io page, detective Anderson will not be dealing with the mystery alone, as he tries to crack the case, he will have to confront his past and face some of his own inner demons as well. However, the demo is currently only an hour long, so the mystery behind detective Anderson's troubled past and what his inner demons might be will have to wait for the final game.

Developed by Frostwood Interactive, "Rainswept" aims to feature several things: an emotional story, characters with intricate pasts, and a wonderful soundtrack.

An announcement trailer for the game was released on Jan. 2 and uploaded onto Frostwood Interactive's YouTube channel. Around a little over a minute long, the trailer features some of the things players can expect from the game's art direction, writing, and music design.

The developers plan to have the game released sometime during 2018.
