The first two seasons of the Japanese anime television series based on a manga of the same name, "Tokyo Ghoul," was met with less enthusiasm especially by loyal fans of the comic books. However, the third season of "Tokyo Ghoul" maybe something to look forward to as some major changes seem to be in store for the anime.

The biggest change is that a new animation studio is slated to produce "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3. The first two seasons of the anime were produced by Studio Pierrot. But now studio Madhouse will take charge of the upcoming season, according to a report from Anime Maru.

Madhouse is known to have long created and helped produce very well-known shows in the past, most notably "Death Note," "One-Punch Man," "Trigun," "Ninja Scroll" and "Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust."

Because the new production house is known for producing darker types of animated television shows, expect the third season of "Tokyo Ghoul" to have the same tone. In fact, a writer on the show, who refused to be named, told Anime Maru that the upcoming episodes will have a psychological feel to them.

"This is perhaps the most disillusioning, psychological and darkest plot line that we will attempt to adapt," the unnamed writer said.

The "Tokyo Ghoul" writer also said that the upcoming third season will be as close to the manga as possible, so as to please loyal readers.

"We hope to remain as faithful as possible to the source material, although we cannot guarantee that more gory scenes such as Touka's standardised exam test-taking will not be censored," the writer said.

The character Touka Kirishima will also reportedly have more exposure in "Tokyo Ghoul" Season 3. In fact, Anime Maru said that in the first episode of the next season, Touka will be seen stressing over her choice of university.
