Bravo officially announced earlier this week that "Facts of Life" star Kim Fields will be joining "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" for its eighth season.

Fields, also known for appearing in "Living Single," will join fellow newbie Shamea Morton and the remaining long-time "RHOA" cast members. Original housewife NeNe Leakes left the show after last season.

The actress-turned-reality show star recently had a chat with Huffington Post, where she talked about joining the show, among others.

"I've been asked for years to do a reality show," Fields shared. "One of my criteria is that I would be given the opportunity to show a strong family unit. When they came to me to do the show, they said, 'We love you. We love your light and we love your opinions and you can give them in your way.' So far they have been great in letting me be me."

The actress also said that she has enjoyed filming the upcoming episodes and that she found that a "pinch of each of [the housewives] is in me," the actress said.

Based on the press release by Bravo, fans of the show will get to see the developments in Kandi Burruss's pregnancy and discover the marital struggles between Cynthia Bailey and her husband Peter Thomas. Kenya Moore, meanwhile, will remain in search of love while in the middle of building her new house, which she calls the "Moore Manor."

Phaedra Parks will be seen starting to live her life as a single mother, with her husband Apollo remaining incarcerated. Porsha Williams, meanwhile, seems to have found the man that she has been hoping for.

Whereas Leakes has left the show, original housewie Sheree Whitfield will be returning.

"The Real Housewives of Atlanta" season 8 is set to premiere on Nov. 8.
