'The Originals' season 2 episode 2: Intense family reunion

"The Originals" is back for it second season, and its premiere episode did not disappoint at all. It ended with Esther taking control of Cassie's body, and she tells her sons that there will be a family reunion soon. A family reunion couldn't come at a better time than early in the season.

Season 2 episode 2 is entitled "Alive and Kicking," which is just fitting for the newly risen Esther and Mikael, the parents of the original vampires. However, this family reunion won't be a happy one. Rather, they might paint the streets of New Orleans red.

Also, in the premiere episode, Klaus explained to Hayley that the only way they can bring their daughter back to New Orleans safely is to take control of the city. This means Hayley has to be the "Queen of the Werewolves."

According to the synopsis: "As tensions between Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) grow, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) steps in and encourages her to regain her position within her werewolf pack."

However, Hayley will face a challenger in Esther, who also wants to be the leader of the pack. As a result, Hayley might just hate Esther more, apart from the reason that Esther tried to kill her baby Hope.

Moreover, the synopsis says: "Still under Davina's control, Mikael grows impatient as she attempts to uncover a spell to protect those closest to her. When Elijah turns to Marcel for help in tracking down a vital piece of information, he is forced to remember a time long ago when they were on better terms."

Speaking of Davina, she will go on a date with Kaleb or Cole. And while at dinner, some unexpected visitors crash their date.

"The Originals" season 2 episode 2 "Alive and Kicking" will air next Tuesday on The CW.
