'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay €” Part 1' update: Lucky fan to meet Jennifer Lawrence at premiere, final trailer released

One lucky fan plus a friend will meet Jennifer Lawrence in person, and join her and the cast at the premiere of "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1" on Nov. 17 in Los Angeles, California.

The movie is hosting a sweepstakes that will fly one winner and a guest to L.A., with overnight accommodations for two. They will walk down the red carpet to the VIP Room prior to the screening and personally meet The Mockingjay along with the rest of the cast, including Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson. The winner and companion will then watch the debut screening of the film, and wrap the evening rubbing elbows with the stars and production team at the exclusive after-party.

The contest is a fundraising campaign that will support the Special Olympics World Games to be held in L.A. in 2015. Part of the description in the contest page reads:

The Special Olympics World Games will be the world's largest sports and humanitarian event in the world in 2015. The World Games will unite the globe through sports in a celebration of the abilities and accomplishments of people with intellectual disabilities."

The sweepstakes is open to international contestants from selected countries (read full details here). To participate, fans can make any of the following donations:

  • $10 – Each Supporter gets 10 sweepstakes entries, plus an exclusive Mockingjay Part 1 digital campaign badge.
  • $25 – Each Friend gets 250 entries, plus an exclusive digital thank you card from the cast.
  • $50 – Ambassadors receive a limited edition District 13 sticker each, on top of their 500 entries to the raffle.
  • $100 – Champions get to don their very own exclusive Mockingjay Part 1 campaign t-shirt, and they have 1,000 entries to the sweepstakes.
  • $250 – Aside from an exclusive Mockingjay t-shirt and 2,500 entries, each Hero gets a shout-out through the official Hunger Games social media pages.
  • $500 – Change Makers get to have an exclusive campaign hoodie and a limited edition poster, plus 5,000 entries.
  • $1,000 – An exclusive replica of the shooting glove from Mockingjay Part 1 awaits each Tribute, along with 10,000 entries.
  • $5,000 – Each Victor gets a JLaw-signed copy of the Mockingjay novel, on top of 50,000 entries to the sweepstakes.
  • $25,000 – The person who donates this amount will be called Mockingjay, and apart from 250,000 entries, he or she gets two tickets to the premiere and after-party.

One can also sign up at the contest site and share the announcement on Twitter and Facebook. An extra entry is earned for each friend who donates via the link.  The contest is open until Nov. 11, 11:59 p.m. PST.

"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1" will hit theaters on Nov. 21.
