'Tom Clancy's The Division' DLC release date rumors: 'Survival' coming later as next expansion packs experience delays

It is confirmed that players will need to wait longer for upcoming expansion packs for "Tom Clancy's The Division," as the next set of DLCs will have delayed releases.

In an announcement on its official website, publisher Ubisoft revealed that the original schedule for its updates and DLCs will be delayed. The next expansion pack, "Survival," will now release later in the year. The release period has been adjusted accordingly, as the third expansion, "Last Stand" will now have an early 2017 release. Originally, the second DLC is supposed to come out together with a planned patch, Update 1.4, in October.

According to the announcement, "This new schedule will not only enable us to strengthen the core experience before adding new content, but also continuously improve it by allowing for more production time to ensure the quality of future updates as well."

Meanwhile, Digital Trends surmises that aside from improving on the gameplay and design, the development team may also be concerned with the rising number of glitches and issues, and will fine-tune the game first before adding the expansion. The industry follower believes that Ubisoft is thinking of plugging the holes first before adding content, in order to contend with other first-person shooters currently out in the market.

This may also be the reason that Update 1.4 will launch first, and separately, from the planned DLC release. While "The Division" is enjoying its success as one of the current online first-person shooter title, numerous bugs and glitches have already been reported by players. Some of the common glitches in the game include loot spawn and rates, as well as player kill bugs.

Prior to "Survival," "Tom Clancy's The Division" has already received "Underground," the first DLC in the Season Pass. In addition, the game has also received free expansion content after its early 2016 release, "Incursions" and "Conflict."
