The Bible miniseries book hits New York Times bestseller list

A book based on The Bible television series is set to debut at No 27 on the New York Times Hardcover Fiction list on Sunday.

A Story of God and All of Us is based on the hit miniseries airing on the History Channel throughout March.

The book is penned by the show's makers, Mark Burnett and Roma Downey, and has already debuted at No 6 on the Publishers Weekly Hardcover Fiction list.

"We are incredibly humbled by the reaction to the series and the books," say the husband and wife team. "Working with this sacred text is a once-in-a-lifetime honour. Our hope is that the books will continue to inspire and encourage.

"First the series becomes a No 1 in television, now the book is the on the New York Times bestseller list. God is moving."

The Story of God and All of Us is a novel for adults weaving together the stories of the warriors, rebels, poets and kings called by God to reveal his enduring love for mankind.

"We are ecstatic that Roma's and Mark's track record of producing hits has followed them from television to publishing," said Rolf Zettersten, senior vice president at publisher Hachette Nashville. "Their books are every bit as magical and successful as their miniseries production."

The novel has also been made available in Spanish, eBook and audio editions.

A Young Readers edition features abridged action-packed versions of Bible stories featuring Moses, David, Daniel, John the Baptist and Jesus.

A devotional  Reflections edition provides readings, scripture and daily prayers related to the main themes of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation.
