Taylor Swift news: 'Reputation' singer featured in January issue of British Vogue; emotional after 'transformative' photoshoot

Pop music sensation Taylor Swift was chosen to be featured on the cover of the January 2018 issue for British Vogue. The photo shoot and the fashion all reflected Swift's transformation from sweet pop princess to a fierce pop queen, an image shift that was also apparent on her latest album "Reputation."

The 12-page shoot featured Swift in a Saint Laurent dress made by Anthony Vaccarello. Her hair was styled by Paul Hanlon and her makeup done by Isamaya French.

Swift shared a sneak peek of the upcoming Vogue cover in a tweet. She expressed thanks to Vogue's current editor-in-chief Edward Enninful who directed the shoot, as well as photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

Enninful was particularly pleased by the shoot. He said that "the chance to help transform America's most fascinating sweetheart was a joy." The editor-in-chief added that what struck him most about Swift is her sense of humor.

Enninful also praised Swift for having a clear sense of who she is, saying that the singer is aware of her following and her status as a role model. He also said that the singer would not portray a character that would send a "wrong message."

Swift, in turn, was grateful for the transformation. She said to Enninful that she "has never seen herself transformed like this before." Enninful shared that the singer was left very emotional by the end of the shoot.

The 12-page photo shoot is reflective of Swift's sixth and latest album, "Reputation." Notably, the album's cover art features a photo of Swift that was taken by Alas and Piggott, as well.

The album is one of the singer's most successful, with the music and lyric videos for the singles racking up millions of views within a few hours after upload. The 27-year old singer-songwriter is preparing for a global tour to promote the album.

The January issue of British Vogue magazine featuring Swift will be available for sale on Friday, Dec. 8.
