Suri Cruise not taking acting roles, claims rumors were false

Suri Cruise, the 11-year-old daughter of Hollywood stars Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, is not taking on any acting roles despite recent rumors.

Several rumors from online tabloids (which were later taken down) pointed out that Suri was silently auditioning for some projects, hoping to land a lead role in TV shows and movies.

Moreover, an Australian publication named "NW" published an article titled "Hollywood Here She Comes: Suri's Starring Role!" claiming that Suri seems to be following the footsteps of her parents in the showbiz industry.

However, GossipCop, a website that fact-checks reports on celebrities, recently debunked the rumors and labeled such as bogus. After confirming with an inside source close to Holmes, GossipCop reaffirmed that none of the stories regarding Suri's audition for several roles were true.

However, it was confirmed that Holmes has been taking Suri to the set of the series "Kennedys: After Camelot," a mini-series where the actress stars in.

"Katie actually made [Suri] a chair that said 'director,'" said Jon Cassar, director of the series, according to PEOPLE. In addition, Holmes also made Suri her sidekick while directing the drama film "All We Had."

Although Holmes has been making an effort to keep her daughter off the spotlight, Suri hyped up the stage last December 2017 after she introduced her favorite performer, Taylor Swift, during the Jingle Ball Concert at Madison Square Garden.

"She is 11 and a half and she's a great girl and she's doing so well and I'm enjoying this time, I'm not so worried yet about the teenage years," said Holmes in an interview with Matt Lauer, the host of the Today's Show.

With the obvious shift of Holmes' career from acting to directing, she mentioned that it is not only to protect her daughter, but also to be more present in Suri's growing stages.
