Most analysts have touted the NFC West to be the toughest division in the NFL this season. Both of these teams will be looking with hope for a Super Bowl appearance this season, but will know that coming top of the NFC West will certainly help on the way to achieving that. So this early season clash could be an important one in deciding who will win the division.
The two teams are developing a fierce rivalry, and neither will want to give anything away today.
In Week 1 Seattle won a close game on the road against the Carolina Panthers, winning 12-7. Russell Wilson finally found the end zone in the fourth quarter, throwing a perfect pass to Jermaine Kearse for a 43-yard touchdown.
The 49ers faced the Green Bay Packers in Week 1, and led the game for much of it, but the Packers ended up taking the lead in the fourth quarter and looked like they might snatch it. But there was a final twist, and quarterback Colin Kaepernick led two scoring drives and helped San Francisco to the win.
