'Suits' season 6 premiere date: Show returns July 13

"Suits" season 6 will officially premiere this coming July 13, as stated in a report from Deadline. The premiere episode will serve as a lead-in as well to the premiere of "Mr. Robot" season 2. 

As stated in the report, "Suits" season 5 ended with Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) apprehended for his years pretending to be a lawyer despite not having a degree in law, and season 6 will depict his life as he faces two years in prison. 

Ross accepted a plea deal in order to guarantee that his friend and associate, Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht), and the rest of the firm would not be facing any legal issues. Despite his efforts, the partners at Pearson Specter Litt have left, leaving the company empty and facing closure.

All that remained were Harvey, Louis (Rick Hoffman), Jessica (Gina Torres), Rachel (Meghan Markle) and Donna (Sarah Rafferty). The report does point out that before they can rebuild the law firm back to its former glory they will need to face the repurcussions following Ross's arrest and imprisonment. 

It is likely that the firm will face the issue of having no clients given that no one would likely approach a law firm that has been in the spotlight, with one of their own attorneys arrested for fraud and for posing as a lawyer. 

It was previously reported that Mike will not be leaving prison at the beginning of season 6. The ending of season 5 will not be resolved in a single episode and it appears as if Mike will be in prison for a long while. During this time, it has been revealed that he will struggle adjusting to the new life, to troublesome inmates and legal battles.

Season 6 will also pick up right where season 5 left off, without a time-jump needed to rush into the story arcs where Mike may get out.
