"Suits" season 5 ended with Mike (Patrick J. Adams) being arrested and imprisoned when it was discovered that he had been parading as a lawyer for years despite never going to law school. According to a recent report from Deadline, it turns out season 6 will keep Mike in prison for some time.
Fans expected Mike to get out of the problem quickly, but as the report points out, Mike will be spending enough time to know a few other inmates. New additions to the cast include "ER" veteran Erik Palladino, who will play inmate Kevin Miller. "Nurse Jackie" star Paul Schulze will play an inmate named Frank Gallo.
According to the report, Gallo will be the first prisoner to greet Mike and will be the one to introduce him to how life is in Danbury Prison. However, it is Kevin Miller who is reportedly going to be Mike's closest friend in the prison facility and may be the one protecting him from the rougher or more violent inmates.
Malcolm-Jamal Warner will be playing a Danbury Prison counselor who is assigned to help inmates get onto a path of rehabilitation. However, this also means Mike will need to admit that he has been cutting corners all his life, using his eidetic memory as a means to get what he wants with minimal effort, including his law career.
With these additions to the cast it is now widely speculated that a good chunk of season 6, particularly the first half of the season, will focus on Mike adjusting to life in prison and perhaps admitting to his crimes while his partner Harvey (Gabriel Macht) will try to keep their law firm steady before everyone goes their separate ways.
While no premiere date has yet been announced, "Suits" season 6 is expected to premiere by June or July given that previous seasons have followed this release schedule in the past.
