In the shocking midseason finale of "Suits," Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) was arrested in front of his fiancée Rachel (Meghan Markle) for conspiracy to commit fraud. Since the show's premiere, one of the series' main storylines is how Mike has hidden the fact that he's not an actual lawyer, but a brilliant man with a talent for talking his way out of sticky situations. When the show returns next year, not only will fans learn about Mike's fate, but more importantly, who turned him in to the cops.
There has been a lot of speculation about the culprit's identity, but last week, show creator Aaron Korsh gave a hint about who sold out Mike. In a Twitter Q&A on Monday, Nov. 9, Korsh was asked by a fan, "Who ratted on Mike Ross give me a hint."
The show creator replied, "It wasn't one of our main six. How's that?"
Korsh's revelation now rules out Rachel, Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman), Jessica (Gina Torres), Donna (Sarah Rafferty) or Harvey (Gabriel Macht) as the one who turned Mike in. Fans of the show were happy with Korsch's tweet, with one saying that it was a very good clue since many of the series' loyal viewers thought for sure that it might be Louis since he knew about Mike's secret.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the second half of season 5 will follow Mike's arrest and the resulting investigation led by assistant U.S. attorney Anita Gibbs (Leslie Hope), which threatens to bring the whole firm down. Harvey will now find a way to get Mike free, even though he knows that he is guilty. It can be recalled that aside from being Mike's mentor, Harvey is the one responsible for hiring him in the first place.
Meanwhile, Korsh also gave a production update on season 5B and said on the micro blogging site last week that they were working on the rest of the season. On Nov. 10, he tweeted, "I'm finally here in Toronto. #Suits Season Five Finale table read tomorrow."
When asked how long he can keep the show going, Korsh wrote, "Hard to say but I see another 2 yrs at least."
"Suits" season 5B premieres on Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 10 p.m. on USA Network.
