Student in court over schoolgirl knife murder

A 21-year-old student is due to appear in court on Thursday charged with the murder of schoolgirl Arsema Dawit.

Dawit, 15, was stabbed to death in the lift of a block of flats near Waterloo Station in London on Monday.

Thomas Nugusse, of Ilford, Essex, is set to appear at Greenwich Magistrates Court charged with her murder.

Dawit was the 16th teenager to die violently in London this year.
