Stuart Pendred to release debut classical worship album

There's no doubting the CV: Stuart Pendred has shared the same stage with artists such as: Sting, Lionel Ritchie, Beyonce, Mariah Carey, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

And he's sung in a lot of different places too: the US, Europe and in the UK the Royal Albert Hall, all over the West End, Twickenham and his beloved Stamford Bridge.

Oh, and he's done quite a bit of acting on the telly too, from Spooks and Casualty to London's Burning and The Bill.

And now Stuart's recorded an album. 'Benedizione' is a worship album of incredible depth and power, an album unlike any other.

Stuart's classical baritone vocals add weight and power to songs made familiar to small groups and churches the world over. Whether with 'Facedown' or 'Amazing Grace', he adds power and intimacy, a sense of something bigger and bolder brooding over the waters.

Stuart explains the significance of the album like this: "It has always been a desire of mine to record an album of songs that reflected my personal faith and the way it has shaped my journey through life.

"The songs on this album, beautifully written by others, have greatly impacted me on that journey. They have encouraged me, challenged me, comforted me, and at various times and in different ways ushered me into the presence of my God - a place of humility, peace, ecstasy, awe, wonder, love and praise."

With some of the songs translated into - and then sung in - Italian, 'Benedizione' has the power to stop listeners in their tracks and serve as a backdrop to a fresh way of engaging with these cornerstones of modern worship.

Benedizione releases on Monday 16 June on Fierce! Distribution
