Steam Summer Sale 2016 games list: start date confirmed by Paypal; triple-A titles expected among the discounts

The start date for the upcoming Steam Summer Sale has been confirmed. Now, fans and observers expect that a number of classic and newer triple-A titles will again be included on the discount list.

In an official tweet, Paypal U.K. said the start date of this year's Steam Summer Sale has been confirmed for June 23. While Valve has yet to confirm the schedules, previous speculations have already revealed the start date, and it is rumored that the event will end early next month, on July 4.

According to rumors, the schedules for the 2016 Steam Summer Sale have been tagged with June 23 start date, beginning on 9:45 a.m. PT, and will end on 10:00 a.m. PT on the first Monday of July. Meanwhile, although Steam's parent company Valve has yet to announce it, a Paypal announcement can already be taken as an official confirmation, since Paypal is one of the payment company partners on Steam.

Valve and Steam have yet to come out with what games and deals will be included in the 2016 Steam Summer Sale. Speculations suggest that as with previous events, it will be a mix of classic triple-A games, as well as some huge discounts on previous releases. In addition, DigitalTrends surmises that some Valve hardware will also get their prices slashed off. The inudstry follower says that the Steam machines and controllers are not performing as well as they should, and Valve is expected to put up the peripherals with huge discounts to drive sales.

While specific games haven't been mentioned yet, GameRant predicts that Valve will still push through with the idea of a regular discounts event, with the previous Flash Sale absent. Fans prefer a Flash Sale event though, since the games – both old and new – are listed with a single price tag.
