Bandai Namco Entertainment, the publisher of the upcoming game, "Soulcalibur VI," developed by Project Soul, revealed more information regarding the comeback of Nightmare, who had been a character of the game series since "Soulcalibur III," for the upcoming sixth installment of the game.

Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe published a YouTube video about Nightmare on March 2. The video titled "Soulcalibur VI – PS4/XB1/PC – Nightmare showcase (Behind the scenes video)" features game producer Motohiro Okubo as he talked about the comeback of the fan-favorite character, Nightmare. Okubo talked about how "Soulcalibur" presents both "light" and "dark" themes — and as fans are aware, Nightmare is a character symbolizing the dark element. He also pointed out that Nightmare will be back with his signature weapon, Soul Edge. From a producer's point of view, Okubo said that he likes Nightmare and that the Soul Edge-wielding character will be vital to the game's story.

Nightmare is the main antagonist of the franchise. He has the ability to possess other characters, appearing first as a possible ending for Siegfried or Inferno in "Soul Edge." In "Soulcalibur V," Nightmare gained a new body and assumed the identity, Graf Dumas. As "Soulcalibur VI" will revisit the original story of the franchise, Nightmare will be possessing Siegfried once more.

The other characters that have been introduced were "Soulcalibur" veterans Ivy, Zasalamel, Sophitia, Mitsurugi, Xianghua and Kilik, as well as a newcomer, Grøh. "Soulcalibur VI" is scheduled to release for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One sometime this year.
