The "Soulcalibur" series is one of the oldest fighting games that many of the older gamers would play in the arcades during their childhood. With the latest "Soulcalibur 6" being recently revealed and set for release this year, fans can expect two of the veteran characters from the very first titles of the series: Ivy and Zasalamel.

Bandai Namco has revealed both characters following the release trailers for each of them. Isabella Valentine, or more commonly known as Ivy, has actually been part of the game since the very first game back in 1999. Zasalamel came six years later, in 2005, when "Soulcalibur 3" was first released.

Ivy, who is also called "Twisting Blade of Solitude," has a very flexible dominatrix-styled weapon that explains her fighting style as well-being. Zasalamel, on the other hand, is an evil selfish magician with a scythe. While Zasalamel does not fight as quick as Ivy, he does have a lot of tricks up his sleeve being a magician after all.

The flexibility of Ivy's blade allows it to turn into either a bow or a whip for long-ranged attacks. Both Ivy and Zasalamel do not have many differences from the original game, at least when it comes to combat mechanics. Players who play them as their mains will easily be able to familiarize themselves with their favorite characters.

There have been other characters already revealed to be part of the game's roster. Alongside Ivy and Zasalamel, players can also expect Sophitia, Mitsurugi, Nightmare, Xianghua and Kilik. Surely, a lot more will be revealed possibly until the game's release.

The latest "Soulcalibur 6" does not have an official release date yet but it should come out within the year. With "Soulcalibur 5" being released six years ago, fans will definitely have high expectations for the upcoming installment of the game.
