Sony Xperia X Performance release date news: Sony US releases teaser video, release date announcement soon?

Xperia X Performance Sony Mobile

While Sony Mobile has already launched its newest flagship lineup in the Xperia series, fans have yet to see the global roll out for the Xperia X iterations. The previously announced Xperia X, Xperia XA, and Xperia X Performance are currently available in selected European regions only.

However, Sony Mobile US has released a new teaser trailer for the Xperia lineup, and this may hint that the new flagship iterations will reach stateside soon.

In the new video trailer for the Xperia X Performance, Sony Mobile US showcased some of the top-tier features of the new flagship. Since the Xperia series is known for its innovative and top-of-the-line camera setup, the footage highlighted the new camera assembly for the Xperia X Performance. The features for the camera include predictive hybrid autofocus, which Sony Mobile said is the fastest in the world and is able to adjust in just 0.3 seconds; predictive shutter speed; and blur-less image capture even in super low-light conditions. These features are available for the 23 MP assembly of the top-tier device.

The video also showcased other upgrades in the device, including a smarter battery management that Sony Mobile claims can last for two days and the new Qnovo adaptive charging option.

Sony Mobile US is expected to release the new Xperia series soon as an unlocked device as Sony's home market, Japan, is set to receive at least three of the new Xperia X iterations by next month.

Meanwhile, although the Xperia X series has yet to reach US fans, the specs sheet for the lineup is already out. As the top-tier iteration in the lineup, the Xperia X Performance carries a Snapdragon 820 processor paired with 3 GB of RAM and comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. While it has an average 32 GB of onboard storage, it can be expanded for up to 200 GB via microSD. Its 5.0-inch screen displays 1080p.
