Shakira world tour postponement news: Reveals new tour dates

Colombian pop singer Shakira had to postpone some dates of her "El Dorado World Tour" in the United States due to continuing struggle with her vocal chords.

The singer has been attempting to recuperate for some time, but the grueling schedule of the tour has proven to be too strenuous for her voice, which led to the inevitable cancellation of the North American tour leg. Fortunately, Shakira has already provided new dates for her tour.

The original starting date for Shakira's tour was set for Jan. 11 at the BB&T Center, but has now been moved to Aug. 15. On top of that, the 40-year-old performer also decided to schedule her Miami stop on Aug. 17, as well as Aug. 18 at the American Airlines Arena. Fortunately for those who have already purchased their tickets, it has been announced that their tickets will be eligible for the new tour dates.

However, if the aspiring concert attendees are not happy with the reschedule, it is still possible to request for a refund. Shakira's vocal recovery has taken much longer than initially anticipated. Before the "El Dorado World Tour" began in Europe, the singer already announced that she was suffering from a vocal cord hemorrhage -- which, specifically, is affecting her right vocal cord.

As of now, Shakira is projecting that she will be able to resume her tour commitments in June of 2018. Despite the tour cancellations, fans have showered Shakira with their support by sending the singer speedy recovery messages. Shakira was touched by the kind words from her fans, and even responded in a lengthy post on her official website.

She concluded the letter to her fans by assuring them that she would give her next performances her all, and stated that she is extremely excited to go back on stage once more to fulfill her duty to entertain her loyal fans.
