Sense8 season 2 release date, spoilers: episode 1 to be a Christmas special

Netflix's raging sci-fi drama, Sense8, is all set to bring in season 2. HNGN reports that the opening episode of the new season will be aired as a Christmas special this year, and the season will continue in January the following year.

As for the spoilers, they are plenty. Max Riemelt, who plays Wolfgang, one of the sensates, spoke to BuzzFeed News about how the new season will push boundaries and include more sex, more violence, and more of everything. The upcoming season will also see the eight sensates casting aside their individual differences and focusing on working together, as a team.

Another spoiler that seems to be making wildfire rounds among fans is the love triangle between Wolfgang, Kala, and Rajan. Sense8, on the official instagram page, released a photograph of Kala and Rajan in a happy place. So is that how the story will take Kala? Or will she and Wolfgang pair up, as most fans hope they would? Season 2 is where the answers lie.

But it isn't going to be entirely rosy for the team of eight. BuzzFeed reports that Riemelt went on reveal the arrival of new dark forces. These villains will go after Wolfgang, and it will fall on him to restructure everything. The shooting for these scenes took place at Berlin, which is where Wolfgang will have to find his purpose this season. Whether he, along with his team, succeeds in defeating the dark forces is something we'll have to wait to find out.

The second season will also see Kala and Wolfgang discover more about their powers. J. Michael Straczynski, one of the creators of the show, explained that the eight will learn that they are better and stronger as a team. This means they'll have to work together to hunt down the mysterious Whispers.
