"Semblance," the playdough platformer developed by South African game developer Naymakop and published by Good Sheperd Entertainment, is scheduled to release on the Nintendo Switch, Microsoft Windows and Mac sometime this year.

Eurogamer reported the news on Mar. 7. Eurogamer also reported that Naymakop published the Switch release announcement trailer for the game studio's first game.

According to the newly minted Steam page of the game, "Semblance" is a playdough platformer with deformable terrain, set in an alluring minimalist world. It is a game that begs the question, "What if you could deform and reshape the world itself?" "Semblance" is a platformer wherein platforms are part of the gameplay, particularly the way one solve problems.

In the game, players control the ductile protagonist of the game who is tasked to defeat the strange, crystalline infection of hard materials by liberating the life essences of the world and uncovering the reason for its appearance. As mentioned earlier, "Semblance" is set in a world where the property of "hardness" does not exist — a world where players can physically reshape by means of squishing, bouncing, squashing and transforming. Players will be able to travel in three game worlds with hints of African aural distinction. Each of the three game worlds explores a new consequence of a planet that has the ability to deform and change. Moreover, just like the malleable solution to problems, the game's narrative is presented expansively, allowing players to progress in accordance to their own liking.

Naymakop has yet to release the specific dates and prices for the upcoming personal computer (PC) and Switch versions of "Semblance." The minimum system requirements for Microsoft Windows and Mac are listed on the Steam page of the upcoming game.
