Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber news: On-again couple welcomes 2018 in Mexico

On-again couple Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber rings in the New Year in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Gomez arrived south of the border with a group of friends, Raquelle Stevens, Courtney Barry, and Ashley Cook, earlier last week. An Instagram post from Stevens on Friday shows the girls enjoying the tropical weather as they frolicked at the beach.

While it was nice to see Gomez having a great time, this made fans wonder whether the couple is welcoming 2018 apart. Bieber answered the public's question when he followed his beau to Mexico over the weekend. His Instagram stories hint that he was in a tropical location, although he did not mention exactly where.

Sources, however, told People that the "Love Yourself" singer was exactly where he had to be.

"Justin and Selena are doing great. They celebrated New Year's Eve together in Cabo," the source said.

An insider also told E! News that on Saturday evening, Bieber flew in to Cabo on a private jet from Cancun, where he spent the holidays with his family. He reportedly checked into an oceanfront villa just 10 minutes away from where Gomez was staying.

The source added that the 23-year-old pop star also joined Gomez and her friends on Sunday, when they had a dinner party with a mariachi band.

"He and Selena spent time together again. They were very low-key and dressed casually," the source said. "They rang in the New Year together and enjoyed watching fireworks over the ocean."

Another insider added that Bieber "is looking forward to 2018" with his 25-year-old girlfriend.

Bieber and Gomez have been virtually inseparable since they renewed their love affair in November, after "The Heart Wants What It Wants" singer broke it off with The Weeknd.

Earlier in December, the couple took a private jet from Los Angeles just to visit a Sugar Factory in Seattle, where they shared a huge 60 oz. frosty.
