Seattle Seahawks NFL 2015 roster news: Earl Thomas returns from physically unable to perform list

A member of the Seattle Seahawks' Legion of Boom is back as safety Earl Thomas was scratched off the physically unable to perform (PUP) list after passing his medical Wednesday.

The Seahawks made the announcement through their official Twitter page, which said, "FS Earl Thomas passed his physical and will be activated from the PUP list."

Thomas earned his place on the list after going through surgery to fix a torn labrum in his left shoulder last February.

The 26-year-old safety suffered the injury during last season's National Football Conference (NFC) championship game against the Green Bay Packers.

Despite the activation, it is still uncertain when Thomas will return to practice or if he will be able to play in any of the Seahawks' preseason games.

But still it is good news for Seattle as Thomas can now join the team in training camp, which gives him a chance to get conditioned as he works slowly to be back in game shape.

As everything goes well for Thomas, it is no longer a question if he will be able to play in their 2015 season opener against the St. Louis Rams.

The Seahawks opened their training camp without their main safeties, since Thomas was on the PUP list when they began while Kam Chancellor is still on a holdout as he continues his search for a new deal.

Chancellor inked a four-year extension contract in 2013 worth $28 million and he is set to earn $4.55 million for next season.

Meanwhile aside from Thomas, wide receiver Paul Richardson together with Legion of Boom cornerbacks Jeremy Lane and Tharold Simon also started the year on the PUP list and are yet to be activated, according to The Seattle Times.

The Seahawks look to have a complete cast with the season about to start as they are gunning for their third consecutive trip to the Super Bowl.
