Staff and students at St Aidan's Church of England Academy in Darlington have been raising funds to support a guide dog for the blind.
They have held lots of fun activities, including a fun day for dogs and their owners, a sponsored dog walk, and a 'gunge the teacher' event in which Assistant Principal Stephanie Francom bravely volunteered to be gunged.
They have so far raised more than £1,200 for the Guide Dogs for the Blind charity.
They are planning more events to reach the £5,000 needed to train and fund a guide dog.
House Manager Gaynor Goad, who organised the fun day with fellow staff and students on the Wilfrid Charity Committee, said: “The house has carried out all sorts of events to raise money for a guide dog over the past year.
“We hope to fund a puppy who can be trained and the event was a brilliant way of raising funds while also raising people‘s awareness about the charity.”
