SAT-7 wins a CBC Gold Exploits Award

SAT-7 has been honoured by the Christian Broadcasting Council with a Gold Exploits Award in recognition SAT-7's efforts to give the church of the Middle East and North Africa a voice and a visible presence through its broadcasts.

This award was particularly directed at SAT-7’s founder and CEO, Terence Ascott.

Roy Kemp, SAT-7 International Treasurer and chair of the UK Board, received the award on 27 November in front of many of the founders and pioneers of Christian broadcasting.

Olave Snelling, Chair of CBC commented: “We wanted to say thank you to the pioneers of Christian media who have gone out into the UK and the world, for the remarkable work they are doing – and more specifically to SAT-7, the first Arabic Christian satellite television channel which was a pioneer in so many areas, breaking ground for other ministries to follow.

"It is our passion to see God's Word and life pre-eminent in and through the media and through the lives of media people, and we have seen just how tremendously God has used SAT-7.”

SAT-7 is a Christian satellite network made by and for the people of the Middle East and North Africa. SAT-7 makes Christ’s message of hope available to every home in the Middle East. SAT-7 consists of three channels: SAT-7 ARABIC, SAT-7 PARS (Farsi/Turkish) and SAT-7 KIDS (Arabic). Each channel broadcasts on the Hotbird satellite platform.

For more than a decade, SAT-7 has supported Christians living in the Middle East and North Africa, by providing a satellite platform through which they can strengthen their churches and witness to Christ.
