Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 release date, specs: Next-gen slate to debut on Sept. 1?

Speculations suggest that Samsung is readying major releases for later this year. Starting with the Galaxy Note 7 next month, rumor has it that the South Korea-based tech giant will then follow it up with a Galaxy Tab S3 announcement on Sept. 1.

According to Android Authority, some tipsters are convinced that Samsung is readying a big announcement to start this year's IFA. Reportedly, one of the flagships that will make it to Samsung's presentation at the Berlin event is the Galaxy Tab S3.

Other observers agree with the supposed reveal date, since the timeline seems to be dead-on. If the predecessor's launch date is any basis, a September reveal is just right as the current-gen Galaxy Tab S2 was launched in July last year.

However, although it is only weeks now before the rumored September launch, not much is known about the Galaxy Tab S3, as there are no supposed leaks or sightings of the device. Fans can expect though, that the new top-tier Galaxy Tab offering will have tweaks and improvements over its predecessor. The new Galaxy Tab S3 is anticipated to be a step-up version even with the recent update on the Galaxy Tab S2, launched earlier this year.

Meanwhile, since the annual IFA is one of the biggest trade shows in the industry, it is expected that Samsung will showcase a full flagship lineup for its products. Aside from the Galaxy Note 7 and Galaxy Tab S3, rumors suggest that a new Samsung wearable will also be announced. Reportedly, Samsung is already working on the Gear S3 and will reveal the new smartwatch at the trade show. The new wearable will be closer to a traditional timepiece than a bulky watch, although there will be improvements in its specs and features such as built-in GPS.
