In the next episode of "Runaways," Chase Stein (Gregg Sulkin) and the rest of the gang find out all about their parents plan, which could destroy Los Angeles.

The trailer for the upcoming installment, which is titled "Doomsday," was released just recently, and it shows the group of powered teenagers watching an old video of Molly Hernandez's (Allegra Acosta) deceased parents. In that recording, the father said, "Molly, they're planning on digging something very deep beneath the city. It will cause a series of catastrophic earthquakes."

The parents, who call themselves the Pride, plan to build a special learning center in Los Angeles. However, it seems like they have other nefarious plans in mind. They are shown at the building site where a huge drill is suspended in the air. They look in amazement at the site of the hi-tech device.

It appears that it is going to drill into the earth to make it easier to excavate. However, as Molly's parents revealed, the shaking would cause the surrounding areas to crumble and fall. "We have to stop this. No one else will," Alex Wilder (Rhenzy Feliz) says to his friends. They all appear at the site, and it seems that they are going to destroy the drilling contraption. It remains to be seen if the kids will be able to get rid of the device with their superpowers.

In the last episode, Chase's dad Victor was in a critical state, which prompted Jonah (Julian McMahon) to tell the Pride that one of them had to sacrifice their life to rejuvenate the wounded man. The parents were all scared and surprised, and pointed at one another. In the end, no one was sacrificed, and Victor was preserved in a chamber.

"Runaways" season 1 episode 9 will be streamed on Tuesday, Jan. 2, at 12 a.m. EST on Hulu.
