Redman encourages worship in times of struggle

|PIC1|Recording artist Matt Redman encourages everyone to turn to worship in times of struggle on his seventh studio album We Shall Not Be Shaken.

Redman is the artist behind such popular worship songs sung in churches across the world as "Blessed Be Your Name", "Better Is One Day", "You Never Let Go" and "Heart of Worship".

We Shall Not Be Shaken, which will release nationwide August 25 via sixstepsrecords, uses simple poetic lyrics to express unbreakable truth in an age of utter brokenness. Working with producer Robert Marvin (Mat Kearney) and writer Jonas Myrin (Steven Curtis Chapman, Natasha Bedingfield), Redman wrote several songs to centre listeners on God's unmatchable constancy.

"This album praises God's steadiness," says Redman. "We're being reminded how shakable earthly things are - job losses, home foreclosures. When we travelled to Korea, there were high profile suicides due to the failing marketplace. So it feels appropriate now to address the economy in a worship song."

The goal of spiritual confidence points to the other key focus on We Shall Not Be Shaken, the centrality of Jesus and the cross. First single "This Is How We Know", co-written with Redman's wife, Beth, seamlessly blends the message of John 3:16 and 1 John 3:16.

Prior to the shaping of the album there was one extremely notable shakeup. In July 2008, Matt and Beth Redman and their three young children moved from England to the United States, and in November they welcomed their fourth child. They never envisioned themselves calling America "home", but God had another idea in mind.

They recorded We Shall Not Be Shaken in Nashville, Tennessee, and now reside in Atlanta, Georgia. He and his wife will help plant the Passion City Church in Atlanta, alongside Passion Conferences founder Louie Giglio, Chris Tomlin and others.

"I believe there is an inextricable link between the songs of worship and the worshipping church, and am convinced the community of believers gathered to reflect God's greatness is the soil from which authentic and fresh expressions of worship arise," says Louie Giglio, director of sixstepsrecords and Passion City Church.
