'Red Dead Redemption 2' release date details to be revealed at E3 2016?

While players are disappointed to learn that Microsoft pulled out the supposed Xbox One backwards compatibility feature for the original "Red Dead Redemption," the more hardcore fans are already gearing up for the game's sequel. Although Rockstar Games has yet to confirm "Red Dead Redemption 2," rumors of the second installment making it to this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo have floated online.

According to Youth Health Mag, speculations place the E3 conference to be when Rockstar Games will unveil "Red Dead Redemption 2." Should this be true, the game's appearance will be slated in the middle of the year, as the event will happen on June 14 to 16. However, the industry follower also noted that Rockstar Games may only confirm the development of the title and provide general details, while specific information such as release dates, story, plot, and such will have to wait.

Although there are no details to back up this claim, the report mentioned that while Rockstar Games seems to be focusing so much on its other franchise, "Grand Theft Auto," the publisher will not forget how successful "Red Dead Redemption" is, and the clamor for a proper sequel is already an indication of what fans want.

Express UK also seems to be thinking along these lines and added that while not directly confirming it, Rockstar Games previously hinted that "Red Dead Redemption 2" has a high chance of being released.

A previous statement by Strauss Zelnick of Take-Two Interactive, parent company of Rockstar Games, teased a sequel, and how "Red Dead Redemption" may evolve into a long-running franchise.

The company CEO said, "I pretty much know the ones that I can assure you are permanent. It's obvious that 'GTA' is a permanent franchise as long as we keep delivering this incredible quality; it seems quite obvious that 'Red Dead' is a permanent franchise, again with the same caveat, or 'Borderlands,' for example, and 'NBA' and others."
