'Rainbow Six Siege' Patch 1.3 and 1.2 released: Ubisoft to go after cheaters

 Ubisoft

"Rainbow Six Siege" has recently been given an update, with the PC version getting Patch 1.3 and console version with Patch 1.2. By the looks of it, the game developer is serious about dealing with cheaters.

The announcement was given by Ubisoft through their blog on Wednesday. According to the game developer, cheating within the game will immediately result to a permanent ban. First-time offenders will no longer be given a three-day suspension.

In addition, players who are about to fight in a match but tend to wander off outside the preparation stage will immediately die.

More importantly, the patch brought improvements to the server tick rate. The player position update rate was previously set at 30 times per second, but both personal computer (PC) and console versions now have an update rate of 60 times per second.

Ubisoft highlighted that more changes are coming. "Those are the most immediate changes, and they're just the beginning," the post reads.

The developer has also addressed some of the popular bugs raised by the community, and the fixes have already been rolled out to PC players but will arrive to consoles on Jan. 20.

Some of these fixes addressed bugs that allow players to walk through walls during preparation phase. It also partially fixed Error [2-0x00000041], screen freeze and failed data synchronization issue.

Ubisoft continues to bring more updates to the game to improve player experience. There's an update 2.0 coming, which will be available for PC and console players on Feb. 2.

This is just part of the fixes included in the developer's top priorities for the year. Ubisoft has laid out a list of top known issues and how they're working around it as they move forward.
