'PUBG' news: Players delete desert map due to lack of map selection

"PlayerUnknown's" Battlegrounds" (PUBG) will soon be needing a better and less random map selection setting, as developers find out that players have been deleting one of the two maps in the game files because of this.

Lots of players in "PUBG" have been discovered to dislike the newly added desert map called "Miramar," and some have even gone to the lengths of deleting the map entirely from the game's file directory in order to skip the map. Other methods involved renaming Miramar's file into something else. Both options will cause a glitch in the game, which will make players automatically forfeit the game if the map is chosen, saving them time and bandwidth.

One player even went as far as creating a program which lets the game skip Miramar entirely, giving it the same function as the workarounds discussed above.

This was after players have expressed their dissatisfaction with Miramar for lots of reasons, the most notorious of which is loot balancing, where some areas have significantly better gear than others. Other reasons include sparse cover in the map, giving snipers a huge advantage compared to the Mediterranean map Erangel. This makes the success too reliant on luck since those who immediately acquire the best scopes in-game can easily take out other players.

The developers of "PUBG" have not yet implemented a map selection setting in "PUBG" so far, but in the meantime, they have introduced a set of improvements for Miramar. These include more off-road routes for driving, as well as more buildings for cover, and most importantly, a more balanced distribution of loot and gear, making the overall player experience with Miramar more tolerable.

Apart from the improvements for Miramar, the developers of the game have also included additional fixes in the form of optimizations and bug solutions for Miramar, where players getting stuck in objects and crevices have been fixed. The replay function has also been revamped and will no longer play older game replays. There is no word yet whether or not the developers plan to implement a map selection tool for the game.
