Prayer Breakfast Build-Up to Evangelical Alliance's "Hope for London 2005"

The annual prayer initiative of the Evangelical Alliance United Kingdom (EAUK), Hope for the City, will kick-off very soon. A series of prayer breakfasts are to be held as a prologue to the event. EAUK invites all churches and individuals in the UK to unite together to pray for one another and London.

The first of the four Hope for London prayer breakfasts will begin on 3rd March at Westminster Chapel. The internationally renowned American pastor, Dutch Sheets, will address leaders from across London's church denominations encouraging them to focus on prayer.

Dutch Sheets is senior pastor at Springs Harvest Fellowship in Colorado. Known for his passion for prayer and intercession, Dutch Sheets is the President and Co-founder of Dutch Sheets Ministries, an organisation devoted to passionate prayer and world-changing revival. He has been in ministry for nearly 30 years and is an experienced conference speaker and bible college lecturer. He is also the author of the best-selling book Intercessory Prayer.

Joel Edwards, Evangelical Alliance's General Director said, "Dutch has a passion to see lives and communities change through the power of prayer. He is passionate about people joining together to pray and wants to encourage leaders to keep on praying despite how difficult it can seem at times. I urge leaders across London to come along and be challenged, refreshed and encouraged by our time together."

Hope for London prayer breakfasts have been going for over ten years since the Billy Graham mission to London in 1992.

Hope for the City 2004 was held on Friday 11th June at Westminster Chapel. It drew hundreds of London’s Christians and church leaders. "As we pray with one another, we are trusting that God will touch the people of the capital," EAUK comments.
