Prayer and meditation help keep supermodel Miranda Kerr grounded

Victoria' Secret angel Miranda Kerr is quite the phenomenon in her industry. Not only is she an in-demand model, but she is also a businesswoman and the face of several well-known brands. To top it all off, she is also a mother. Given her responsibilities, it's only natural that the Australian supermodel might sometimes feel weighed down and stressed by all her commitments.

But surprisingly, Kerr maintains an enviable calm and focus, and she credits prayer and meditation not only fwith keeping her grounded, but also optimistic.

"My continual practice of daily meditation, prayer, and the use of affirmations are some of the key elements that have helped me grow and develop over the years. They've kept me focused and positive through various transitions in life," she said in an interview with Reebok.

Health, love, happiness, family, and friendship are all important to Kerr, so when she needs a break, she either exercises or seeks the company of her son Flynn.

"I feel much more focused when I exercise. It gives me more energy and clarity," she said, adding that "nothing beats dancing and jumping on the trampoline with my son."

Flynn is her son with The Hobbit actor Orlando Bloom. The couple have separated but try to maintain a good relationship for the sake of their only son.

"Flynn inspires me every day. Just seeing the world through his eyes is so refreshing," gushed Kerr.

Because of her many responsibilities, no day is typical for Kerr. "Generally, I try to get up an hour before my son Flynn so I can get my exercise in and review my schedule for the day. I then make breakfast for the two of us, and we talk about our day ahead so he knows where I'll be and what I'll be doing," she said.

After dropping her son off at school, the work begins for the supermodel. When she gets home, she will make it a point to spend time with her son, either by cooking or reading a book together before he goes to sleep. Then she goes back to work, checking on her business e-mails and conducting conference calls.

"I'm a bit of a night owl, so I putter around the house doing bits and pieces of various things before taking a bath and heading to bed," she said.
