Police seize £13 million of cocaine

Cumbria police said on Sunday they had made one of the country's biggest cocaine seizures, netting drugs with a street value of 13 million pounds and arresting six men.

The cocaine was found after police stopped and searched two vehicles at an unidentified UK port on Saturday, police in Cumbria said.

Police did not say what quantity of drugs had been seized.

"This is one of the biggest mainland seizures ever seen in the UK," a police statement said. "This is a major breakthrough in the fight against the illegal trafficking of cocaine."

The police said their investigation was continuing and a number of private and business addresses throughout Britain were being searched.
