'Pokémon GO' version 1.15.0 release date, latest news: new content, daily bonus comes with update

Niantic Labs has rolled out a new major update for "Pokémon GO," and the new patch is now live with new features and content for players.

In its announcement, Niantic Labs has revealed that the update is a major one, bringing the versions to 1.15.0 for iOS devices and version 0.45.0 for Android. The new update brings new features and tweaks for the game.

One noted change for the new "Pokémon GO" update is the introduction of daily bonuses. Players will earn bonus items for each first Pokémon catch of the day, as well as an additional bonus for PokéStop visits. The new feature also serves as attendance bonus for players, since larger rewards are sent to those who log into "Pokémon GO" and catch Pokémon or visit PokéStops for seven consecutive days.

The new update also tweaks the gameplay for Gym training and battles. It also improves on the Nearby tracking feature for "Pokémon GO," with the new update supposedly the start of a global rollout for the new Pokémon tracking system in the game.

Meanwhile, some observers note that while the update itself is already a major release for "Pokémon GO," the patch also teases more massive content for the game soon. According to BGR, the update hides details on the already-expected Gen-2 update for the game. While Niantic Labs has not stated confirmed details for the game, the upcoming update is expected to add more Pokémon to the game, aside from the original 150 Pokémon.

Supposedly, hidden changelog notes on the new update details at least 100 more Pokémon will be added once the Gen-2 update rolls out. Fans expect that Niantic Labs will confirm and announce these details soon, as they are supposedly already in the current codes for "Pokémon GO," as well as hinted at on Niantic Labs' website.
